Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Bake a Break! We are thrilled to be part of your celebration. Please read our Terms & Conditions carefully before placing your order. By paying your deposit and confirming your order, you agree to be bound by the following terms.

1. Cake Design & Artistic Variance

Custom Handmade Art: All of our cakes are custom and handmade. Consequently, slight variations in color, texture, or decoration may occur. Exact color matching (especially to digital screens, lighting, or fabric swatches) cannot be guaranteed.
Design Changes: Any modifications to cake design, size, or flavor must be confirmed in writing at least fourteen (14) days before your event date. Please note that changes may alter the final price of your order.

2. Order Pickup Policy

⚠️ Important Liability Notice for Pickups:
Bake a Break ensures that all cakes are structurally sound, stable, and properly packaged for transport before leaving our premises. However, Bake a Break assumes zero responsibility or liability for the cake once it has left our studio. >
By choosing to pick up your order, you assume all risk for safe transit. We strictly recommend transporting your cake on a completely flat, level surface (such as the passenger footwell or a flat trunk) in a fully air-conditioned vehicle. Do not place cakes on car seats.

3. Delivery & Venue Setup

Punctuality & Delays: Delivery times will be arranged as per your order confirmation. While every effort will be made to ensure punctuality, unforeseen circumstances such as heavy traffic, transit incidents, or venue access constraints may cause minor delays. We will maintain active communication with you or your coordinator throughout.
Post-Setup Liability: Once the cake has been successfully delivered and set up at the venue, Bake a Break is no longer responsible for any damage caused by ambient heat, improper handling, weather, outdoor elements, or third-party interference.

4. Strict Allergen Policy

🚫 Please Read Carefully:
Bake a Break operates out of a small kitchen environment that handles nuts, gluten, dairy, and eggs. Because of our limited space, cross-contamination cannot be 100% prevented; therefore, we cannot cater or provide strictly allergen-free products. >
Bake a Break accepts zero liability for allergic reactions. The client assumes all responsibility for notifying their guests of potential allergens.

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

The Deposit
The initial deposit is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. This secures your event date on our calendar and covers administrative planning and early sourcing costs.

Balance Refunds
In the event that you need to cancel your order, refunds on the remaining balance (excluding the non-refundable deposit) are processed based on the following timeline:

  • 30+ days prior to the event date - 100% refund of the remaining balance
  • 14 to 29 days prior to the event date - 50% refund of the remaining balance
  • Less than 14 days prior to the event date - No refund or credit will be issued

6. Studio Cancellations (Force Majeure)

In the highly unlikely event that Bake a Break must cancel an order due to extreme, unavoidable circumstances beyond our control (e.g., sudden severe illness, natural disaster, act of God), we will notify you as soon as humanly possible.
Our liability will be strictly limited to a full 100% refund of all monies paid (including your deposit). While we will make reasonable efforts to assist you in finding a suitable substitute cake maker, any subsequent arrangements will be subject to that vendor's unique terms.
